2 Information about electromagnetic compatibility
(EMC)
2.1 General information
►
The product/equipment was tested in accordance with DIN EN 60601-1-2.
► The product/equipment has no essential performance characteristics as per the definition in
IEC 60601-1-2.
► The product / equipment satisfies the noise emission and immunity requirements to operate in a
domestic healthcare environment.
► The product / equipment satisfies Class B according to CISPR11:
The products / equipment can be used in areas that are directly connected to the public mains
supply, and supply buildings that are also used for residential purposes.
►
When using the product / equipment in a
special environment,
its function may not be guaran-
teed nor can it be ensured that it satisfies the essential Performance Characteristics
.
► Special Environments
may include, for example:
•
Military areas (e.g. a submarine, close to radar equipment or weapons control systems)
•
Areas of heavy industry
•
Medical treatment areas with high power medical electrical (ME) systems (e.g., RF surgical equipment,
magnetic resonance imaging equipment).
►
Operating in an
professional health care facility environment
is permitted provided an ade-
quate distance is kept to the high power ME systems.
►
The product / equipment must not be placed and operated directly next to other electrical equip-
ment. If this is unavoidable, the function of the product/equipment and the other electrical equip-
ment should be checked to rule out any malfunctioning caused by electromagnetic interference.
►
The use of accessories other than those provided for in the operating instructions, however they
may have an adverse effect on the EMC properties.
►
Stacking products/equipment is not permitted.
► Portable and mobile communication devices (e.g. cell phones, radio equipment) can affect the
functioning of the product/equipment.
Maintain a distance of at least 30 cm (12 inches) between the product/equipment and mobile com-
munication devices.
