10. Safety features
The "Folding Drone GPS RtF" electric quadcopter is equipped with a number of transmitter and model
safety features designed to protect the model aircraft from damage and to minimise possible damage. The
protection mechanisms are recognisable by a LED indicator (model aircraft) or an optical and acoustic
warning signal (transmitter).
a) Transmitter
The state of the batteries is constantly checked when the transmitter is in operation. If the voltage level of the batter-
ies falls below a certain value, the transmitter will signal this with a recurring warning beep and permanent flashing
of the switch LED (Figure 4, no. 3). In this case, you should immediately stop flying and replace the batteries in the
transmitter.
b) Model
The quadcopter LEDs indicate whether the transmitter is "paired" with the model and whether the transmitter signal
reception is flawless. This is indicated by permanently lit LEDs.
The quadcopter constantly monitors the quadcopter rechargeable battery voltage. If the quadcopter rechargeable
battery is fully charged, all the LEDs on the body of the model will light up after the complete start-up procedure. If
the rechargeable battery voltage drops below a critical value over a certain period of time, this is indicated by the
LEDs flashing.
When the voltage is below a certain value permanently, the model automatically initiates the landing process for safety
reasons. For this purpose, the model ascends to a safe altitude and returns straight to the starting point to land there.
This safety feature works only with enabled GPS and a flawless GPS signal.
If the transmitter is switched off or the quadcopter flies out of the transmitter’s frequency range, an automatic return
and landing at the starting point will be initiated. This safety feature works only with enabled GPS and a flawless GPS
signal.
If the quadcopter LEDs (for example, during the start-up procedure) flash at "2x short/1x long" intervals, an
error was detected. In such cases, it is advisable to switch off the transmitter and the model. In addition,
the rechargeable quadcopter battery should be briefly removed from the model and disconnected.
Then put the transmitter and the quadcopter into operation again (connect/insert the rechargeable flight
battery, switch on the transmitter and then the quadcopter).
