4. While pressing down on the
seating surface, pull the end of
the strap to tighten or feed back
into the automatic retractor.
Repeat as needed until the child
restraint cannot be moved more
than 1 inch (2.5 cm) in any
direction at the belt path.
5. Attach and tighten the top tether
as shown on pages 36-37
6. Check the tightness of the lap
belt and retighten if needed.
This strap may become loose
when the top tether strap is
tightened.
Recheck that both the lap belt
and the top tether strap are tight
and properly secured.
