Use the following micro-encapsulated screws
(6) supplied with the console according to the
seat type, to secure the seat rails and belt
holder or belt shackle:
Type I 2 x 3 screws M6x25
Type II 2 x 2 screws M8x25
With this type you should make
sure that the feet (7) are resting
completely flat; they must not be
at an angle.
Type III 2 x 2 screws M8x25
Door side (Figures B and D)
• If used, placed the supplementary adapt-
er (4) between the console (8) on the
door side and seat rail (9).
• Secure the console (8) on the door side
to the seat rail (9) with two screws M8x16
(10).
• Attach the adjustment lever (11) to the
bracket (12) on the outside of the seat rail
(9) and press it into the holder (13).
• Push the cover (14) over the seat rail.
• Put the belt shackle (15) on the seat on
the door side.
• Put the seat rail with console on the belt
holder, and insert an adjustment plate
(16) at the back of the seat rail.
• Align the adjustment plate longitudinally
in such a way that the rail can be moved
backwards and forwards smoothly when
the adjustment lever has been actuated.
• Secure the seat rail and belt shackle to
the seat with the screws (6) supplied with
the console according to the seat type.
Tunnel side (Figures C and D)
• If used, put the supplementary adapter
(4) between the console (17) on the tun-
nel side and the seat rail (18).
• Secure the console (17) on the tunnel
side to the seat rail (18) with two screws
M8x16 (10).
• Attach the adjustment lever (11) to the
bracket (12) on the outside of the seat rail
(18) and press it into the holder (13).
• Push the cover (14) over the seat rail.
• On the tunnel side, put the holder for the
seat belt catch (19) on the seat.
• Put the seat rail with console on the belt
holder, and insert an adjustment plate
(16) at the back of the seat rail.
• Align the adjustment plate longitudinally
in such a way that the rail can be moved
backwards and forwards smoothly when
the adjustment lever has been actuated.
• Secure the seat rail and belt shackle to
the seat with the screws (6) supplied with
the console according to the seat type.
6. Connecting the centre plug at
the belt tensioner (Figure E)
• Undo the plug at the belt tensioner by
taking off the cap from the plug.
• Push the two-part (split lengthwise) cable
sheath (20) over the cable for the seat
tensioner.
• Guide the plug for the belt tensioner from
the inner side of the seat through the
opening of the console on the tunnel side
to the outer side of the seat.
• Insert the plug (21) into the belt tensioner.
Passenger seat only
• Secure the SBE electronics with a cable
binder at the holder for the console on the
door side.
7. Installing the Recaro seat in
the vehicle (Figure F)
If your Recaro seat is equipped with electri-
cal adjustment facilities or a seat heater, a
polythene bag containing the installation in-
structions and the parts needed for electrical
installation is supplied with the seat.
• Secure the bracket (22) on the tunnel
side at the back to the floor of the vehicle
using the original screw (23).
• Lift the seat into the vehicle.
• Establish the plug-in electrical connec-
tions. Plug in the yellow plug from the ve-
hicle floor into the yellow centre connec-
tor at the seat.
• Tighten up the belt at the belt shackle
with the original screw.
• Slide the seat into the frontmost position.
• Secure the seat on the tunnel side at the
bracket with two screws M8x16 (24).
• Secure the seat on the door side with the
original screw (25) to the vehicle floor.
• Slide the seat into the rearmost position.
• Secure the seat at the front with both
hexagon nuts (26). Replace the covering
caps (27) on the nuts.
8. After completion of the
installation process
• Check that the seat rails are working
properly. After the seat has been moved
and the release bracket has been relea-
sed, the seat rails have to lock into positi-
on properly on both sides.
• Connect the negative terminal to the bat-
tery again.
