12 Setup and Activation
This section will explain how to program the customer’s receiver and how to activate the system using the
Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) system.
12.1 Powering Up and Programing
1. Turn the receiver on by moving the
Switch Bypass
on the receiver to the
OFF
position. Leaving the
switch in the
ON
position will bypass the switch power and will operate directly off the vehicle’s battery.
2. Make sure the vehicle is parked outside with a clear view of the southern sky.
3. Turn the vehicle on. Verify that the vehicle’s monitors are powered on and that the proper video settings
are selected to receive the satellite video signal.
4. When the vehicle is first powered on, the 3 lights on the receiver flash on and then off with only the
STBY
light still on. This is the default mode and means the receiver is in standby mode. Turn the receiver
on by pressing the
ON
button on the remote control.
5. The system will first display the ‘
Initialization
’ screen on the monitor. This screen will be followed by the
‘
AT&T CruiseCast
’ Warning screen.
6. After approximately 1 minute, the ‘
First Time Installation Setup
’ screen will appear (Figure 12-1). The
receiver should be pre-programed with the correct system parameters. Once the antenna locks onto the
satellite, the signal meters will automatically appear (Figure 12-2).

7. It may take up to 3 minutes for the Eb/No signal level on the right to go green. Once it does, the
padlock in the middle of the screen will go to the locked position. At this point, you can select
OK
to
continue. You will not be able to select
OK
until both signal meters are green.
