4. Find a location on the vehicle for antenna placement. Make sure that the curvature of the roof is minimal
and that the entire magnet lies flat on the vehicle’s roof. Usually, this is towards the rear of the roof. Clean
the surface of the roof to prevent debris from scratching the vehicle’s paint. Place the antenna on the roof
with the RF port facing towards the rear of the vehicle. Pull up on the antenna from the sides to verify that
the magnetic mount is holding to the roof (Figure 6-5).

5. The safety cable must be installed when utilizing the magnetic mount. Failure to do so may result in
severe damage or bodily harm should the antenna dislodge from the vehicle’s roof.
6. Secure the provided safety cable to the magnetic mount by inserting the ball end of the cable stopper.
Pull the cable so that the ball slides forward in the clip (Figure 6-6).
7. Secure the other end of the safety cable by wrapping it around a secure part of the vehicle, such as a
crossbar or side rail of the roof rack, or a hinge on the rear hatch. Use the provided cable thimble to protect
the cable from any sharp edges (Figure 6-7). Secure the provided U-bolt to the end of the looped cable.
