A cylinder is included with each cable that requires one. Follow the instructions below to ensure
correct
cylinder
installation.
Installing a Ferrite Cylinder on an Audio or Network Management Cable
Do the following for
each cable
:
1)
Snugly wrap the cable
twice completely around
the cylinder (Figure 2-5).
2)
Set the cable into the cylinder cutouts.
3)
Ensure that 1 to 1-1/2 inches of the cable protrude from the cylinder (on the end you insert into the
backplane connector).
4)
Snap the cylinder closed. You can reopen and close it to reset the cable.
5)
Insert the cable into the modem backplane connector (with the ferrite cylinder close to the backplane
connector).
