Filling the single-disc spreader
Never fill the spreader while the tractor engine is running. Prevent an uninten-
tional start of the tractor's engine by removing the ignition key.
Use auxiliary equipment (e.g. bucket loader, feed screw conveyor, silo) to fill
the hopper of the single-disc spreader.
Use a suitable platform when filling manually (e.g. filling with Bigpacks).
Fill the hopper no higher than the top edge. Never exceed the maximum pay-
load.
Only fill the hopper with the spreader hitched to the tractor.
3.4.4
Checks before start-up
Before the first and all subsequent operations, check the single-disc spreader to
make sure that it is safe to operate.
Is all safety equipment on the spreader installed and functional?
Are all fasteners and load-bearing connections tight and in good condition?
Are the spreading disc and spreading vanes and their fixings in good condi-
tion?
Are all catches securely fastened?
Is anyone standing in the danger area of the single-disc spreader?
Is the drive shaft cover in good condition?
Check the height. The distance between frame and ground must not be great-
er than
120 cm
