The basic process of a measurement is easy with the R&S
QAR50.

QAR50 initiates the measurement.
The basic principle of all measurements is as follows.
a) One of the clusters generates a signal.
b) The cluster transmits the signal in the direction of the DUT.
c) The signal passes through or gets reflected by the DUT.
d) Both clusters measure the level characteristics of the reflected or transmitted
signal.

Reflection measurement
The reflection measurement determines the percentage of energy that is being reflec-
ted by the DUT over a certain frequency range used by automotive radar sensors. The
result (reflectivity) is the ratio of the reflected energy to the energy of the stimulus sig-
nal over a certain radar band.
The R&S
QAR50 measures the reflection of both sides of the DUT:

Cluster 1 sends a stimulus signal and receives the reflected energy from the side
of the DUT that faces cluster 1.

Cluster 2 sends a stimulus signal and receives the reflected energy from the side
of the DUT that faces cluster 2.
