Firmware Upgrades
Firmware refers to the operating software inside PerformanceBox. The firmware is
responsible for all of the functions within PerformanceBox and from time to time, firmware
updates will be released by Racelogic to improve or enhance the way that PerformanceBox
works. The latest firmware will always be available on the PerformanceBox website, in the
downloads section:
http://www.vboxmotorsport.co.uk/firmware
It is recommended to check the web site periodically for updates. PerformanceBox upgrade
files have a ‘.ruf’ file extension. To upgrade the PerformanceBox firmware, please follow
these instructions:
Download the latest firmware file from the website and copy this file onto your PC.
Ensure that you have the latest version of PerformanceTools software installed on
your PC.
With the PerformanceBox switched off, connect your it to the PC with the USB cable.
Power on the PerformanceBox whilst holding down the MODE button
– instead of the
usual splash screen you will see the Upgrader screen:
Double-
click on the ‘.ruf’ upgrade file. The progress bar will indicate the status of the
upgrade.
Once the upgrade is complete the PerformanceBox will restart and you can remove
the USB cable.
During the upgrade process an upgrade log file will be created. This log file can be emailed
to the support address on the next page should any problems arise.
If you have any questions regarding the upgrade procedure of PerformanceBox, please do
not hesitate to contact your local Distributor.
