distinct weekday and weekend schedules. 

 

 

Playback Mode 

 This option lets you choose either Streaming in Real-Time or Store-and-Forward. 

 

Streaming in Real-Time 

 This mode causes the R-Box device to download and play each new 

track from the web server in real time.    This mode works great as long as you have plenty of spare 

network bandwidth and a reliable internet connection that is up during the daytime without fail. 

 

Store-and-Forward 

 This mode causes the R-Box device to download tracks in batch mode in the 

background, store them on the local Flash-RAM based hard drive inside the R-Box, and playback 

the tracks directly from the locally stored file set.    This has the advantage that you can configure it 

to download the tracks at nighttime for example, and playback during the day without having to 

download tracks during the daytime.    This helps to ensure maximum uptime during the daytime and 

any Internet outage will not disrupt the music playback. 

 

When you select the Playback Mode field to be Store-and-Forward, the screen expands again and a few more 

new fields are displayed:
