BEFORE COMMENCING
STEP 1
The Touch Tap requires a 1-37/64” (40mm)
hole cut into the counter’s surface behind the
sink. We typically set back approximately 2”
(50.8mm) from the back edge to the sink.
The QT553 must be located close to this cable
without causing it to stretch.
Once the faucet is in position, you are now
ready to connect the tap to the QT553.
1. Remove the end cap prior to installing the sil-
icon, hold grey teeth into the fitting, then lift fit-
ting.
2. Connect two lengths of the platinum cured
silicone tube from the fitting kit to the tap stems
on the underside of the INSTALLATION of the
tap.
Fix in place using the spring-loaded clamps
included in the fitting kit. Avoiding kinks, make
a clean run to the top of the QT553. Fix the
other ends to the manifold outlet stems pro-
truding from the top of the QT553 as follows:
3. The rear manifolds stems are the mains hot
and cold water. This connects to the left-hand
stem of the tap as you look at it inside the cup-
board.

4. The front manifold stem is the boiling, chilled
and sparkling water. The front manifold is con-
nected to the right-hand stem as you look at it.

Depending upon the surface, you may need
special cutting equipment. Always check with
the work surface manufacturer and ask what
type of cutting tool can be used.
Decide where the tap is going to sit. Note that
the control panel is on the right-hand side of
the tap. Ensure that the location you choose
is suitable and that you can reach the controls
without needing to stretch.
Place the tap carefully into the holes, ensuring
that the comms cable is dropped into the hole
first to prevent damage.
Using the washer and fixing bracket provided,
you can now fix the tap in place underneath
the work surface.
Take care to locate
the comms cable into
the groove behind the
tap base, then slide
the washer up over
the base followed by
the fixing bracket.
This will screw onto
the thread on the tap
base.
Ensure that the comms cable is situated cor-
rectly as you spin the bracket clockwise until it
is almost at the top of the thread.
At each side of the fixing bracket, you will see
the threaded hole. Using the two bolts
provided, thread up
into these holes until
tight against the washer
above. With a flat head
screwdriver, tighten each
one gently.
Now position the tap so that the control panel
faces forward towards the user position
(180 degrees to the
sink). Now you can
tighten the nuts until
you have a firm fus-
ing on both sides.
The comms cable
hangs down and
will connect into the
QT553 unit when it
is installed.
