stacker/stapler. The illustration below shows the collated and uncol-
lated stacking for two copies of a three-page file.
The system administrator chooses the default collation setting for all
print jobs via the Configuration menu. (See the system administrator's
guide for additional information.) The default collation setting is used
when collation is not specified first by the emulation (application or
printer language), or next by the DOC
collate command (this includes
the network print commands). Some emulations are capable of speci-
fying collation through language specific mechanisms such as the
setcollate statusdict operators for level 1 or level 2. (See the system
administrator's guide for information on this operator).
Using QMS DOC
The QMS DOC command syntax to set collation is

selection)
Your choices for
selection are on and off. (See the QMS Crown Docu-
ment Option Commands manual for complete information.) This over-
rides the Operator Control/Collation setting. Collation is set by the first
subjob in a session and applies to all subsequent subjobs in the ses-
sion unless explicitly reset by the option within the subjob. (See the
