Additional weight
Defensive riding
»
When fully loaded, the Kidgoo1 weighs up to 50 kg and the Kidgoo2
weighs up to 60 kg that the bicycle must pull, brake and keep on
track in addition to its own weight and that of the rider:
–
Jerky pulling and braking puts high loads on the coupler and
tow bar, and thereby increases wear.
–
All stopping distances are much longer when braking, and
the stress on the brake linings is correspondingly greater. The
stopping distance is further increased on wet surfaces and
downhill slopes.
–
During braking, especially in curves, the trailer can swing out or
push the bicycle’s rear wheel to the side and reduce its traction.
–
High centrifugal force in curves can cause the trailer to tip over.
»
Do not exceed the maximum permitted speed of 25 km/h and avoid
riding at an angle.
»
Drive downhill and curves at walking pace (max. 7 km/h), to rule out
excessive centrifugal forces.
»
Always ride defensively and with foresight.
»
Brake in good time before reaching curves, junctions, obstacles etc.
»
Always pass uneven surfaces slowly. Keep away from steps,
escalators and very steep paths.
»
Get off the bike at curbs and pass them slowly.
Danger!
Failure to comply with the aforementioned safety instruc-
tions can lead to property damage and personal injury.
