Chapter 10:
INTERIOR EQUIPMENT
10.1 Companionway Steps and Aft Berth
The companionway steps are hinged and can be folded to provide
access to the aft berth and more room in the galley. The steps are held
in the folded position by a bracket on the cabin bulkhead. Always
make sure the steps are properly secured when they are in the folded
position.
The aft berth is located behind the steps. There are three access
hatches below the berth to provide access to the bilge pump, holding
tank macerator pump, air conditioning and sump pumps, and other
components mounted in that area of the bilge. The wall panels are
removable to provide access to the battery charger, VacuFlush
holding tank system and other components mounted in the mechani-
cal systems compartment behind and along side of the aft berth
compartment. Light is provided to this compartment by a 12-volt
light on the wall.
10.2 Marine Head System
The head compartment is equipped with a sink, hot and
cold faucet that converts to a shower by pulling the
faucet out of the base. A special seat folds down over
the toilet to make showering more comfortable.
An opening port light above the sink provides daylight
and ventilation. There is also a 12-volt overhead light.
An AC G.F.I. duplex outlet is provided by the sink.
Marine Head System
Your boat is equipped with a VacuFlush marine head
system as standard equipment. VacuFlush systems use
a small amount of water (one pint to one quart) and
vacuum, which is generated by the 12-volt vacuum
pump, to flush. The toilet is connected to the pressurized
fresh water system. Using fresh water results in less
odor in the head compartment.
