7.3.3 Binary Inputs
– IEC 60870-5-101/-104 Master
If the IPC4020 device is configured to be master, see section 7.2.3, an additional subtab is displayed which
lists binary inputs that mirror the status of the slaves. Configuration of these supervision objects is made in
the same way as for other logical inputs.

7.3.4 Binary Inputs
– PDCIO and PBI
If the IPC402x device is configured to use PDCIO for extended I/O, see section 6.1, binary input subtabs are
displayed showing the binary inputs of PDCIO and attached PBI modules. Configuration of thes PDCIO
objects is made in the same way as for other logical and physical inputs. The added objects are not
described in details in this manual, for more information please refer to
the user’s
manual of PDC2/PDCIO
[4]. The PDC2/PDCIO manual also describes how to add and activate additional modules for binary inputs,
PBI.

PDCIO can be configured for battery supervision, which adds logical input objects to the
PDCIO
tab. These
objects have factory settings according to the PDC2/PDCIO manual [4] and the settings template for
IPC402x [5].
