Unscrew the brake crank bolt (1) as far as possible.
Loosen the nuts (6) of U-shaped clamps (5) at the ends of the cable to be
replaced.
Disassemble the appropriate shackles (7) on the ends of the cable to be
replaced.
Remove the parking brake cable.
Clean the parking brake components, lubricate the crank mechanism and
pins of the cable guide pulleys.
Install a new cable.
The parking brake cable must be fitted carefully.
Thimbles and three clamps must be fitted at the ends of the rope.
The clamps must be tightened securely. The distance between the
clamps must not be less than 20 mm.
Clamp jaws must be placed on the load-carrying cable side - figure
(5.8).
The first clamp should be placed directly on the thimble.
After the first loading of the cable, check the condition of the cable ends again
and make corrections if necessary.
Adjustment of parking brake cable tension:
Hitch trailer to tractor. Hitch trailer to tractor.
Place the trailer and tractor on a level surface.
