HELMET SETTINGS
The LCD displays the activity icons and the words Sensitivity,
Shade and Delay at the bottom, along with their accompanying
range icons indicating the selected setting.
Each setting is entered by first pressing a button twice to
activate the selection, then continuing to press the same
button to change the setting number. There are four control
buttons and three memory select buttons.
SHADE NUMBER SELECTION
Activating the shade button (A) will display either the
5-9
(Q)
or
9-13
(P) shade range icon. It will start at the lowest setting.
Each time you press the shade button, the number displayed
(K) will increase by one.
Press the weld/grind button (C) to switch over to the
9-13
range
and press the shade button. Continually pressing it past shade
13
will automatically switch it back to the
5-9
shade range.
Adjust the welding helmet’s Shade Number to match the type
of welding. Consult the Welding Shade Guide (see Appendix A)
to determine the minimum shade for the amperage and
welding method being employed.
DELAY TIME
Delay time refers to the time the cartridge filter is set to
change from the dark to bright state after welding stops. The
delay can be adjusted (L) up to a 0.9 second delay.
The delay is set between 0.1, suitable for spot or short welds to
0.9 seconds, suitable for heavy current welding or when visible
light is produced.
Press the delay button (D) after activation to add a bar to the
Delay LCD range. Each bar increases the delay by 0.2 seconds
starting from 0.1 to 0.9 seconds.
