3.b) LCD text from DSA-1
In Serial Slave mode the DSA-1 echoes its LCD data to the HOST. This data is sent
as raw ASCII without delimiters, and with no checksumming. The notional cursor is
assumed to move one space to the right after each character. Allowable characters are
in the range 0x20-0x7F and 0xA0-0xFF. Some of the more unusual DSA-1 character
codes may not translate directly to the character codes of the HOST.
Note that the current 'soft' character set which occupies 0x00-0x07 of the LCD display's
character set are relocated to 0xC0-0xC7 in order not to conflict with link control
characters (0xC0-0xC7 are Kanji characters in the LCD module and would thus not be
used).
3.c) LCD control codes from DSA-1
These codes impart various LCD-control information to the HOST, allowing it to
maintain an accurate image of the DSA-1's LCD display:
HOST
DSA-1
[Cursor position:]
STX
0x80
(x value, 0-15)
(y value, 0-1)
ACK/NAK
[Clear/Home:]
STX
0x81
ACK/NAK
[Select new soft character set:]
STX
0x82
(set number, 0-1)
ACK/NAK
The HOST must have a knowledge of the DSA-1 soft character sets if it is to emulate
DSA-1 displays. Set 0 is used within the bit-activity sub-menu, set 1 is used generally
and within the audio bargraph sub-menu.
3.d) LED states from DSA-1
Changes to the DSA-1 LED indicators are reported:
