13.3 RF Experiment Design in LightField
NOTE:
When launching LightField, click on the
New Experiment
icon.
When the PI-MAX4: 1024i-RF icon is moved to the
Experiment
Devices
area, the camera’s default settings will be active for the
Experiment Settings
stack. At some point in the setup process,
save the experiment via the
Save Experiment
icon or the F4 key.
13.3.1 Requirements
For RF operation, the PI-MAX4 must have RF capability and
Enable RF Modulation
must
be selected on the
Common Acquisition Settings
expander.
13.3.2 Trigger Response
Triggering for RF operation is set up on the LightField
Trigger
expander. The trigger can
either be internally generated by the PI-MAX4: 1024i-RF or can be generated by an
external source connected to the
TRIGGER IN
connector on the rear of the camera.
The trigger source is selectable via the
Source
menu where the following options are
available:
•
Internal
Trigger pulses are generated by the PI-MAX4: 1024i-RF based on the
Internal
Trigger Frequency
setting which is configured on the
SuperSYNCHRO Timing
panel.
The range of trigger frequencies is 2 Hz to 1 MHz, in 1 Hz increments.
NOTE:
The
Internal Trigger Frequency
setting also determines the
frequency of
SyncMASTER1
and
SyncMASTER2
outputs on
the AUX I/O cable.
•
External
In order for the PI-MAX4: 1024i-RF to recognize triggers from an external source,
the characteristics of the triggers to be supplied must be provided. These
characteristics include are configured on the
Trigger
expander, and include:
— Threshold
;
— Coupling
;
— Termination
;
— Trigger Determined By
.
