PROTECTIONS
PROTECTIONS
The NB Wall EV charger may include different hardware protections depending on the model and options
selected. This section describes the different protections.
Overcurrent and short circuit protection
The
IEC
chargers include a differential switch (RCD) in each line and whose characteristics are as
follows:
DIFFERENTIAL SWITCH

Nominal
current
(I

)
Nominal voltage
(U

The
NB Wall, in both IEC and US, can have an extra option
: a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) for
each hose. Its main features are shown in the following table:

AC
10kA
The
NB Wall - Professional (IEC)
model can include as option a type A RCD resetting accessory.
Residual current monitoring (RCM)
The
NB Wall - Professional (IEC)
equipment includes a residual current monitor (RCM) , while the
NB
Wall - Advanced - IEC
equipment can include it as an extra option. This element monitors for any
leakage current in excess of the operational limit in the AC charging hose; if detected, it provides a fault
signal that will stop the charge.

RCM
6mA
DC
Charge circuit interrupting device (CCID)
In case of
US
equipment, those include a charge circuit interrupting device (CCID) for AC charging. This
element monitors all currents between phase and neutral; when applicable, it will provide a fault signal
that will stop the charge. It includes an integrated differential element.
Operational limit
CCID
56mA

NOTICE
Any protection required by regulations and not included in the equipment must be installed
externally.
