additional information for the successful operation of the PFM-4000 Flange
Machine.
How Does a PFM-4000 Flange Machine Work?
Overedge Stitch
Refers
to stitch formations where
a stitch forms a triangle of
thread around the edge of
a seam to prevent
unraveling.
The PFM-4000 Flange Machine overedge stitches a strip of flange to the edge of a
mattress panel while simultaneously safety stitching the panel. This strip of
flange is then secured to an innerspring unit to prevent the panel and filling
materials from shifting. This flange machine is also capable of serging.
While the bulk of the panel rests on a large table, the operator feeds the machine
layers of material 3/8" (.95 cm) to 6" (15.24 cm) thick. The presser foot compresses
the layers and the walking foot mechanism automatically pulls them through as
they are sewn. This allows the operator more freedom to guide the layered
material and ensures even stitching.
