Remove the lower radius rod mounting bolt
r
, nut
and washer from the bearing carrier. Swing radius
rod down. Discard the nut.

Remove the two brake caliper mounting bolts

CAUTION
Do not hang the caliper by the brake line. Use wire to
hang caliper to prevent damage to the brake line.
6.
Remove the rear wheel hub and brake disk
assembly.
7.
Remove the five remaining bolts
y
that attach the
rear bearing carrier to trailing arm. Discard the nuts.
8.
Remove the bearing carrier from the rear drive shaft
and trailing arm.
9.
Rotate bearing by hand and check for smooth
rotation. Visually inspect bearing for moisture, dirt, or
corrosion.
Replace
bearing
if
moisture,
dirt,
corrosion, or roughness is evident (see “Rear
Bearing Replacement” in the Final Drive chapter).
10. Remove the four fasteners
u
that secure the brake
line retainers to the trailing arm.
11. Remove the lower stabilizer bar linkage fastener.
Discard the nut.
12. Support trailing arm with suitable jack stand or
support.
13. Remove the lower shock bolt. Discard the nut.
