Manually Enabling SpeedRead
You can manually enable SpeedRead before inserting a disc into the PlexWriter. To
manually enable SpeedRead:
1. Ensure the PlexWriter’s disc tray is empty and closed.
2. Press and hold the eject button for three seconds or longer. The LED indicator
blinks green three times.
3. Release the eject button. The disc tray opens.
4. Insert a disc and close the tray using the eject button.
SpeedRead is now enabled. If the disc is a pressed data CD, a CD-R data or audio
CD, or a CD-RW disc, the PlexWriter will read it at up to 52X speed.
Disabling SpeedRead
You can manually disable SpeedRead in either of two ways:

Eject the disc.

•
Turn off power to the drive.
Using PlexTools to Enable SpeedRead
Go to PlexTools Drive Settings to enable or disable the SpeedRead option. With this
software, you can select 52X as the default read speed via software control.

NOTE
: If SpeedRead is selected by software, hardware control is overridden. When
the software disables SpeedRead, you can again change to SpeedRead using the
eject button.
