PlexWriter 16/10/40 Operation Manual
43
Possible Cause #4
•
PlexWriter and other IDE CD-ROM drive are connected on the same cable.
Solution #4
•
If necessary, enable BURN-Proof in the recording software. (Some software
packages, such as Adaptec’s Easy CD Creator 4.02, have BURN-Proof support
for the PlexWriter drive permanently on, while other software allows the user to
select whether it is on or off.)
•
Use the image writing method (safe mode) or record at a lower speed. (When
using on-the-fly writing to write from another IDE device on the same bus to the
PlexWriter, the IDE bus is very busy, and this may cause writing errors. Whether
or not you get errors often depends on your system speed and configuration.)
•
Put the IDE CD-ROM drive on the primary bus and PlexWriter as the only
device on the secondary bus (Master).
Possible Cause #5
•
PlexWriter and hard disk are connected on the same cable.
Solution #5
•
If necessary, enable BURN-Proof in the recording software. (Some software
packages, such as Adaptec’s Easy CD Creator 4.02, have BURN-Proof support
for the PlexWriter drive permanently on, while other software allows the user to
select whether it is on or off.)
•
Remove the PlexWriter from the cable, set its jumper to Master, and re-connect it
to the secondary IDE port. (Leave the hard disk connected to the primary IDE
port.)
Possible Cause #6
•
Automatic thermal recalibration triggered.
Some high-speed hard disks are equipped with an automatic thermal
recalibration function.)
Solution #6
•
Turn off automatic thermal recalibration for the hard disk.
•
Use another hard disk.
Possible Cause #7
•
Defective CD-R or CD-RW media. CD-R or CD-RW media may be dirty,
scratched, or damaged.
Solution #7
•
ReWrite using another CD-R or CD-RW disc.
