Overview: Connector Names
The connectors of the NTx-Pro IP Engine are individually named to simplify identification. The names
identify the primary function of the connectors, but each connector can serve multiple purposes.
User Circuitry Connectors
The NTx-Pro IP Engine contains 2 user circuitry connectors, J4 and J5, that interface directly to the
PCB of the camera head or other external device. Each user circuitry connector contains specialized
pinouts that allow you to integrate your NTx-Pro IP Engine and camera head into a compact, single unit
without the need for bulky video connectors.
The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) I/Os in J4 allow the NTx-Pro IP Engine to control external
machinery, or be controlled by external circuitry. The IP Engine’s PLC is versatile and programmable,
and the potential uses depend on your application.
To learn more about controlling external machinery with the NTx-Pro IP Engine’s PLC, see the

.
Two 50-Pin FPC connectors provide a different set of functions for each connector.
Connector J5 has these features and functions:
•
3.3V supply
•
3.3V pixel bus interface
•
33.333 MHz system clock and power-on-reset (POR); sourced by the NTx-Pro
•
2 FPGA load selection input signals
•
Ground pins
Connector J4 has these features and functions:
•
2.5V supply
•
2.5V GPIOs
•
2 FPGA clock buffer inputs
•
Serial communication interfaces
•
VIN filtered power pins
•
Ground pins
•
3.3V supply
