47 Operating the system
Note
The following steps should be undertaken using aseptic technique.
1. Load the samples into the dual solution sample container (6) . Refer to documentation for the
container for loading details.
2. If necessary, connect the injection lines, (10) and (11) to the combined injection line (12) using
the Y-piece (5) .
3. Ensure that the pressure relief valve, (14) is fitted between the waste collection container (7) and
the outlet of pump 1 (2)
4. Connect the combined injection line (12) to the inlet port of the sample carrier (6) .
5. Connect the injection line 1 (10) to the container containing the cryoprotectant (1) . Unless a
collapsible container such as a flexible bag is used, this container will need to be fitted with an
inlet filter
(9a) to maintain sterile conditions in use.
6. Connect the injection line 2 (11) to the container containing the 0% solution (3) . Unless a
collapsible container such as a flexible bag is used, this container will need to be fitted with an
inlet filter
(9b) to maintain sterile conditions in use.
7. Connect the extraction line (13) to the waste collection container (7) . Unless an expandable
container such as a flexible bag is used, this container will need to be fitting with an exhaust filter
(8) to relief any pressure build up whilst maintaining sterile conditions in use.
8. The completed assembly, illustrated in the schematic diagram below can now be taken to the
liquidus tracker chamber.
