Operating the system
This section provides details on how to run the system. The typical steps in preserving samples are
shown below.
Warning
Nitrogen is an asphyxiant. Refer to the Safety section for details on the hazards associated with
liquid nitrogen and nitrogen gas.
Liquid nitrogen is extremely cold and can cause serious injury. Refer to the Safety section for
details on the hazards associated with liquid nitrogen.

Switching on the system
Note
For Kryo-360 chambers, the controller derives its power from the main chamber.
1. Switch on the chamber using the ON/OFF switch at the front of the chamber.
2. For systems other than the those with a Kryo-360 chamber, switch on the power to the controller.
3. Once power is applied to the controller, it will begin its
power-up cycle
.

Power-up cycle
When power is switched on, a test pattern will be shown on the display. When the initialisation is
complete the top menu screen will be shown.
If system detects a memory error, the controller will automatically take you to the
clock screen
so that you can adjust the time and date.
