PRIMING AND DISPENSING
Dispensing occurs by pressing and holding down (for approximately 1 second) the ON/OFF button. Start-
up is only possible if the green LED is permanently on; that is, if the battery is charged. Confirmation that
dispensing has started is given by the red LED going on.
Dispensing can be stopped in three ways:
- Press and hold the ON/OFF buTon;
- Once the maximum dispensing time has been exceeded (time cannot be modified);
- Due to an alarm of intervention of the level sensor.
The priming phase can last from a few seconds to a minute in accordance with the cha-
racteristics of the system.
During the priming phase, the pump must discharge all the air that is initially present in
the whole installation from the delivery line. Therefore, the outlet must be kept open to
allow the air to be released.
If priming takes longer than the set default limit of 1 minute, the electronic control intervenes to
stop the pump in order to prevent damages caused when running dry.
This alarm situation can be seen by the flashing yellow LED aer the pump has been
switched off.
If the priming phase exceeds the set limit, check the following:
- That the pump is not running completely dry;
- That there are no blockages in the suction pipes;
- That the suction filter is not clogged;
- That the suction height is not greater than 2m (if it is greater, fill the suction pipe with
liquid).
- That all air has been released from the delivery pipe.
ATTENTION
If an automatic dispensing nozzle is installed at the end of the
delivery line, it may be difficult to release air because of the
automatic shut-off device which keeps the valve closed when the
line pressure is too low. It is recommended that the automatic
nozzle be temporarily removed during initial start-up.
Once the pumps is primed, check that it is operating within the correct parameters; in
particular:
- That under conditions of maximum back pressure, the power
absorption of the motor stays within the values shown on the
identification plate;
- That the suction pressure does not exceed 0.5 bars;
- That the delivery back pressure does not exceed the maximum
back pressure for the pump.
