- IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THE INSTALLATION -
Your stove “pulls” well but you do not know the value of depression? The unit of depression or draught of the stove is Pascal (Pa).
All fireplace inserts, fireplaces and stoves are designed, optimized and manufactured in accordance with the standards EN 13240
(or EN 13229), with chimney connection of 12 Pa depression. In many cases (for each second chimney pull) the extent of draught
is too high (exceeds 20 Pa), which may result from the combination of too high chimney and installation with a flue pipe liner. In
such cases the appliances will operate under abnormal circumstances which may result in the following events:
- Too high wood consumption: it may increase to triple that of an appliance whose draught is 12 Pa.
- Fire which does not last: it burns too quickly and does not heat sufficiently.
- The appliance will damage quickly and permanently (cast iron plates or refractory bricks will crack).
- Guarantee will be withdrawn.
In order to avoid all these problems, there is only one solution: have your chimney draught inspected by an expert (with operating
appliance), and if it exceeds 20 Pa, have an automatic draught controller installed on the chimney connection.
