n. Cut the braided wire at the marked spot and install the rubber grommet, handle and all
its fastening material.
o. Apply silicone grease along the pedals guide and adjustable base and move the
pedals fwd and aft to inspect their movement.
Modification 13 – ENGINE MOUNT AND ENGINE INSTALLATION
a. Install the new engine mount (See 70-20 in [8]) to the upper part of the firewall and mark
and drill the holes for its lower firewall insert bolts.
b. Using the template from the step 00-t. Mark the through-bolts on the fuselage locations.
c.
Position the engine mount against the engine fixture and fasten it using with all the
fastening material (See 71-20 in [8]) and torque them.
d.
Refasten the coolant hose coming from the water pump to the engine mount, using
the two hose clamps.
e. Follow instructions on pages 3-5 in [10] and reinstall the ignition system provided with
the Rotax engine.
f. Install the air intake diffuser (See [8]) following the process described on pages 6-10 in
[10].
NOTE:
Mind that [10] can be used only for illustrative purposes on specified pages since it is
published for a different type of aircraft.
g.
Weigh the tail down.
h.
Install the lower engine block mount to the engine and slowly move the engine
towards the firewall using the lift/stand.
i.
Fasten the engine mount to the firewall using the three M8x33 and two M6x28 hex-
head bolts. Torque all M8 bolts to 24 Nm and all M6 bolts to 11 Nm.
j.
Remove the heavy-duty nylon straps/belts and the workshop lift/Rotax engine stand.
k.
Connect the hot cabin air pipe coming from the heat-muff to cold-hot air mixer valve
using a hose clamp.
l.
Connect electric harness connector to the sockets on the firewall and connect cold-hot
air mixer electric connector.
m.
Install the lubrication system (See [6] 38:07) and the new bottom oil cooler.
n.
Install the overflow bottle (See 1157018 in
[8]
).
o.
Reconnect inlet and outlet coolant hoses to the cooler using hose clamps (See [6]
27:17 and 34:04).
p. Install the exhaust system (
See [6] 59:41 and 1151033 in
[8]
).
