Connecting your TV with no HDMI input
This diag r am shows connections of a TV (with no HDMI in p ut) and DVD p laye r (o r othe r p layback com p onent) to the
r eceive r .
• With these connections, the p ictu r e is not out p ut to the TV even if the DVD p laye r is connected with an HDMI cable.
Connect the DVD p laye r ’s video signals using a com p osite, S-Video o r com p onent co r d.
• Connect using an HDMI cable to listen to HD audio
on the r eceive r . Do not use an HDMI cable to in p ut
video signals.

p ossible to out p ut signals connected by HDMI and
othe r methods simultaneously, and it may be
necessa r y to make out p ut settings. Please

. You can also
take advantage of pr og r essive scan video (if you r
sou r ce and TV a r e both com p atible), which delive r s a
ve r y stable, flicke r -f r ee p ictu r e. See the manuals that
came with you r TV and sou r ce com p onent to check
whethe r they a r e com p atible with pr og r essive-scan
video.
• If you r DVD p laye r has multichannel analog out p uts,
you can connect these instead. See also Connecting
