TROUBLESHOOTING
• Before calling for service, check the following list to determine the condition of the Digital Tuner.
Possible Cause/Solution
• Make sure the power cord is plugged in.
• Make sure the power is on.
• Make sure the unit is set to a proper broadcast channel.
(Try selecting a different channel.)
• Make sure all cables are connected properly.
• Make sure the antenna cable is functioning properly.
• Make sure the antenna cable is connected properly.
• Make sure the cables connections match the settings of the DTV-
OUT Switch and SIGNAL SELECT Switch on the back of the
Digital Tuner.
• Make sure all cables are connected properly.
• Make sure the audio cables are connected properly to the audio
input terminals.
• Make sure the antenna cable is connected properly.
• Make sure the antenna cable is functioning properly.
• Make sure the polarities of the batteries are correctly aligned.
• This requires an external AC-3 decoder amplifier. Make sure the
amplifier is correctly set.
• Unplug the AC cord from the electrical wall outlet, wait several
minutes, and then reconnect the AC cord. If this does not fix the
problem, ship prepaid or carry in your product to a Pioneer
Electronics Service Center.
• Make sure the antenna cable is connected properly.
• Adjust antenna orientation, using Signal Reception.
• Consult your cable operator.
This unit is equipped with a microprocessor that may fail to operate properly when subjected to
external noise from electrical and magnetic appliances. If the remote control and Digital Tuner do
not operate or the screen to the right appears, remove the electrical cord from the outlet, re-insert
the cord, and try operating the Digital Tuner again.
Important Note on Use of This Digital Tuner
This unit receives only digital broadcast signals and does not output audio or video for programs in analog
broadcast format. If the digital broadcast antenna is not correctly positioned or a channel with a weak signal is
selected, there may be no picture or sound, or the picture may not be clear.
Problem
• No picture or sound.
• Picture but no sound./Sound but no
picture.
• Stereo sound in Left/Right, output
in Right/Left.
• Sound only from one speaker.
• Picture is not clear. (Picture freezes
or noise appears.)
• Remote control does not operate.
• No sound from Optical/Coaxial
Audio Out.
• Light flashing alternately on both
POWER and 480I/REC indicators.
• In Case of Channel Scan Error
