Update the display b y pressing the SEARCH key while su b screen 3 is displayed. [Procedures]
If the total hours of duration of emission of the laser diode (LD) for D V Ds while reading and that of
emission of the LD for D V Ds while writing exceed 4,700 hours, the LDs may b e degraded.
Perform an LD degradation judgment, using su b screen 4.
Press the ESC key.
Press the ESC key.
• While the User Operation screen is displayed, press the ESC , DISP then 2 keys, then the DIG/A N A
key twice, in that order.

The ATA/ATAPI Writer Maintenance Info is o
b tained each time the power is turned on. Thereafter, the
data on the su b screen is updated each time the SEARCH key is pressed (the updating command is
sent) while this su b screen is displayed. Care must b e taken when updating this su b screen, b ecause an
undesired command is inserted if it is executed while recording, etc.

N ote on lighting time data for each LD]
Since data on lighting time of each laser diode (LD) are stored in the flash ROM on the MAI N Assy, after
the MAI N Assy is replaced, the data will b e cleared. However, after the LOADER Assy is replaced, data
on lighting time of each LD will b e retained in the MAI N Assy. Therefore, b efore either the MAI N Assy or
LOADER Assy is to b e replaced, it is recommended that you write down the lighting time data.
