Items Users can Change
The Settings menu contains the Route Guidance, Map Display, Hardware, Others, RDS-TMC,
and PC Card menus. If you select a menu name in the Settings menu, an equivalent menu
appears. In the menu screen, the contents of the current setting is shown on the right-hand side
of each item.
This section describes the details of the setting for each menu. Settings marked with an asterisk
(*) show that they are default or ‘factory’ settings.

Route Guidance menu
Auto Reroute
This setting controls whether, when you stray from the guided route, the system automati-
cally recalculates the route to your destination.
Areas to Avoid
Setting or change of Areas to Avoid is performed (
see “Setting Areas to Avoid” on page 72
).
Route No.
This setting controls whether, during a route calculation, the system calculates one route only,
or whether it calculates six route options, one of which you select.
Fastest/Shortest
This setting controls conditions for calculating a route.
Avoid Motorway
This setting controls conditions for calculating a route.

Even when the setting of “Avoid Motorway” is turned “On”, a route using the motorway may
be set if your destination is far away.
Avoid Ferry
This setting controls conditions for calculating a route.
On* :
Auto Reroute function is turned on.
Off :
Auto Reroute function is turned off.
1*:
Route options are not shown, and only one route judged as being optimum by your
Navigation System is calculated.
6:
Six route options are calculated.
Shortest :
Calculate a route with the shortest distance to your destination as a priority.
Fastest* :
Calculate a route with the shortest travel time to your destination as a priority.
On :
Calculate a route that avoids motorways.
Off* :
Calculate a route that may include motorways.
On :
Calculate a route that avoids ferries.
Off* :
Calculate a route that may include ferries.
