1. SERVICE PRECAUTIONS
CAUTION
Ask
u
sers to bring both s
u
bwoofer receiver and the display
u
nit together when servicing.
NOTES ON SOLDERING
• For environmental protection, lead-free solder is
u
sed on the printed circ
u
it boards mo
u
nted in this
u
nit.
Be
s
u
re to
u
se lead-free solder and a soldering iron that can meet specifications for
u
se with lead-free solders for repairs
accompanied by reworking of soldering.
• Compared with conventional e
u
tectic solders, lead-free solders have higher melting points, by approximately 40
°
C.
Therefore, for lead-free soldering, the tip temperat
u
re of a soldering iron m
u
st be set to aro
u
nd 373
°
C in general, altho
u
gh
the
temperat
u
re depends on the heat capacity of the PC board on which reworking is req
u
ired and the weight of the tip of
the soldering iron.
Do
N
OT
u
se a soldering iron whose tip temperat
u
re cannot be controlled.
Compared with e
u
tectic solders, lead-free solders have higher bond strengths b
u
t slower wetting times and higher melting
temperat
u
res (hard to melt/easy to harden).
The following lead-free solders are available as service parts:
