Changing the I/O Port Address on the DDM/Network Interface
Board
Note:
If the default I/O port address setting (3CC0) does not
conflict with the I/O port address of another device in
your PC, you can skip this section.
The board
’
s I/O port address is set with a switch located at the top
right of the board (near the back plate). The switch has eight sliding
DIP switches. A switch in the up position is a logical 0 (off), and a
switch in the down position is a logical 1 (on).
The I/O port address takes the form:
xyz0
where:
x
is designated with switches 7 and 8 and can be digits 0, 1, 2,
or 3.
y
is designated with switches 3 through 6 and can be digits 0
through F.
z
is designated with switches 1 and 2 and can be digits 00, 40, 80,
or C0.
0
(the last digit) is constant and has no associated switches.
I/O port addresses are expressed in hexadecimal and can be
assigned a value from 0000 to 3FC0 in increments of 16
(10 hexadecimal).
The default I/O port address setting (3CC0) is illustrated below:
