Image Burst mode
In Image Burst mode, the frame rate increases dramatically, since the sensor does not need to
be slowed down for the interface. Provided of course the exposure time is smaller than the
readout time.
The maximal frame rate is in this case:
MaxFrameRate = 1/(TRow*TReadoutDel)
TRow is fixed in Image Burst mode, it does not improve with decreased image width. The value
is 1.025
µ
s.
TReadoutDel is fixed and lasts for 5.5
µ
s. It is the time between the end of exposure and start
of readout.
5.1.7
Frame Combine
Very high frame rates that are well over 1000 fps, can be achieved in the LineScan mode. Every
frame (image) activates an interrupt in the GigE software which will issue a high CPU load or
the frame rate can not be handled at all by an overload of interrupts.
To solve this issue, the FrameCombine mode has been implemented. In this mode, the data of
n images are bundled into one frame. The value n (=
FrameCombine_NbrOfFrames
) can be set by
the user.
FrameCombine can only be used together with ROI Elements (Section 5.1.4); it
can only be enabled if
ROIElements_Enable
=True.
The maximal value of the
FrameCombine_NbrOfFrames
property is 4000.
How-
ever the maximum value of camera property

must not exceed 16383
lines, which is the limitation of Pleora’s GigE interface. The maximum num-
ber of lines can be calculated according to the following formula:
