ROI Elements
In some cases only some parts of the image need to be observed. The ROI element feature
allows the definition of up to 256 individual small regions - which are called elements - all over
the sensor area. Only these data will be sent to the host which results in a higher frame rate.
Up to 16 elements horizontally and up to 16 elements vertically can be configured. Each of
which has the same width and the same height. Fig. 5.9 shows an example of a ROI elements
configuration. It shows a possible distribution of an element matrix of 4 by 5 and how it is
transmitted to the host.

Restrictions
There are some restrictions, which need to be considered:
•
The elements must not overlap with each other.
•
Every element must be placed completely within the sensor area. They must not overlap
the sensor area border.
•
Every element has the same width and height.
•
All elements in a row are located at the same vertical position.
•
Every row has the same number of elements.
•
Number of horizontal elements multiplied by the width of the elements must be a
multiple of 16.
