Introduction
This manual describes standard Photonfocus Luxima series cameras that have a Gigabit
Ethernet (GigE) interface. The cameras contain LUX1310 sensors from Luxima. The Photonfocus
Luxima GigE series has the following camera model families:
D-cameras
Standard digital area scan cameras.
There are camera models in every camera family with the following sensor types:
Monochrome
Standard monochrome sensor
Color Color sensor
2.1 Camera Naming convention
The naming convention of the Luxima camera series is summarized in Fig. 2.1.

Prefix1 Camera platform and usage prefix. The following prefix are available for this camera
series:
MV1
Prefix2 Camera family specifier. The following specifiers are used in this manual: "D":
standard digital area scan cameras
Sensor width All cameras covered in this manual use sensors with a width of 1280 pixels.
Sensor type
Sensor types specification: "I": NIR enhanced sensors, "C": color cameras.
Cameras without sensor type specifier have a standard monochrome sensor.
Sensor Manufacturer Sensor Manufacturer. "L": Luxima
Sensor Family Sensor Family of the prior indicated manufacturer. "01": LUX series
Camera speed
The camera speed is the product of the camera sensor clock in MHz and the
number of parallel channels (taps).
Interface type Interface type specification: "CL": CameraLink
®
, "G2": Gigabit Ethernet
(GigEVision), "U3": USB3 (USB3 Vision).
Interface resolution Maximal resolution (bit width) of the camera interface.
