Common Grounds with Star Wiring
Ground loops can be avoided using "star wiring", i.e. the wiring of power and ground
connections originate from one "star point" which is typically a power supply. Fig. 7.14 shows
a schematic of the star-wiring concept.
Fig. 7.15 shows a schematic of the star-wiring concept applied to a Photonfocus GigE
camera.The power supply and ground connections for the camera and for the I/O are
connected to the same power supply which acts as the "Star Point".
