Record and OTR
This records the TV channel
that you have selected at that moment.

STANDBY
Switch off
This switches off the machine. If
you press

STANDBY
it will automatically
cancel any menu function you have chosen
and will stop a TIMER-recording.

Channel and menu button
This changes to the
next numbered TV channel (for example,
2 to 3). It also moves the cursor up if you have
the menu on screen.

3 to 2). It also moves the cursor down if you

This stores or confirms any
programme you have entered.

Delete
This deletes the last programme you

remote control.
To open the battery compartment:

These are the buttons you use to select channels and programme
the machine.

Rewind
If you have pressed STOP or STANDBY, this rewinds the cassette.
If you have pressed PLAY, this scans the picture in reverse.

Playback
This plays a recorded cassette.

Forward wind
If you have pressed STOP or STANDBY, this winds the cassette
on. If you have pressed PLAY, this scans the picture forward.

Index search
If you use this button with

, it searches for the
previous or next recording on the tape.
STILL/JOG ON

Still picture and JOG on
This stops the tape and shows the picture at that
moment as a still picture. It can also switch on the ’JOG’ function.

SHUTTLE
If you are holding the picture on STILL, the outer dial allows you to
select the speed at which the picture will move on.

JOG
If you are holding the picture on STILL, the inner dial allows you to move
the picture on slowly.
STOP

Pause and stop
This stops the tape, except during TIMER recording.
SMART
SMART
This adjusts the picture while you are playing a cassette.
COUNTER
Counter
This shows how much of the tape you have played.
MONITOR
TV monitor
This switches between the picture on TV and on your cassette.

This increases and reduces the volume.
