7.Push the locking button and the trigger switch and let the blade reach its maximum speed.
8.Operate the blade guard using the lever.
9.Slowly lower the cutting arm on to the workpiece and make the cut.
10.Do not force the blade. It will be more efficient and precise when used at the speed for which it is designed.
11.When the cut is complete, release the trigger switch and wait for the blade to come to a complete stop before lifting the cutting arm.
12.The lower blade guard will lock automatically.
LOCKING THE CUTTING HEAD GUIDE
The cutting head guides or slide rails may be locked in place in order to use the saw as a conventional mitre saw (using the saw as a tilting
saw rather than a slide saw) by tightening the locking knob. When using the saw as a tilting saw, the cutting head must be completely in
the rear position before being locked in place.
CORRECT TECHNIqUE fOR CUTTING USING THE SLIDE fEATURE
warning: First of all, unscrew the rail locking knob to slide the saw.
Sawing by pulling the saw towards you can be hazardous, as the saw may jump up towards you. Always push the saw back away from
your body and towards the guide fence when sawing with the help of the slide. The following stages illustrate the correct method for
using the slide feature of your slide compound mitre saw.
1. Place the workpiece on the table and against the guide, as shown in the figure opposite. Hold the handle of the cutting arm but do not
yet start the saw.
2.Pull the cutting arm, when it is up. Once the cutting arm has been pulled towards you, press
the trigger switch to start the saw (step 1 in the figure).
3.Press the locking button and push the cutting arm (step 2 in the figure).
4.Push the cutting arm back towards the guide fence to make the cut (step 3 in the figure).
5.Release the trigger and leave the cutting arm down until the blade comes to a complete
halt.
6.Once the blade has stopped, raise the cutting arm to the up position.
USING THE SAw fOR CROSS CUTS
While cutting material that is sufficiently narrow to allow the saw blade to make a cut using a
downward movement (similar to that of a conventional mitre saw) instead of sliding the saw
through the workpiece, the sliding movement of the saw is locked in the rear position by tightening the locking knob of the slide rails.
Push the cutting arm down to make the cut. When the cut is complete, release the trigger switch and wait for the blade to come to a com-
plete halt before lifting up the saw head.
MAINTAINING AND CHANGING THE BLADE
IMPORTANT!
Never use a blade that is too thick. Never use a blade with a larger diameter than the original dimension, as it may come into contact
with the blade guard. Failure to respect the original dimensions may be hazardous for the user.

Use only blades designed for cross cutting. While using carbide-tipped blades, make sure their cutting angle is zero or negative. Do not
use blades with deep gullets as they could bend and come in contact with the blade guard
1. Disconnect the machine from the power supply. Make sure that the cutting head is properly raised.
2. Press the blade guard unlocking button.
3. Turn the lower blade guard (C) to the up position.
4. Unscrew the blade fastening screw by turning it clockwise, while pressing the locking device located
on the shaft between the motor and the upper blade guard (D) to prevent the blade from turning. Then
remove the outer flange (B) and the blade. Take off the inner flange and the washer to clean them.
5. Make sure that the inside surfaces of the inner and outer flanges are clean and free from foreign
substances.
6. Make sure that the inner flange is completely against the shaft, with the inside flat part of the flange
against the flat parts of the shaft, and that the washer is completely against the inner flange as in Figure
Zb.
7.Install the new blade making sure that the
teeth are facing downwards, then install the
outer flange and the screw. Turn the spindle
screw to the left to screw it in while pressing
the shaft locking device to prevent it from
turning. Make sure that the flat part of the
outer flange is positioned against the blade,
and that the blade is held completely in place
with the washer positioned in the inner bore
of the blade. The blade must be positioned
with the teeth facing downwards as in Figure
Zb.
8.Lower the blade guard (C) so that it covers
the blade when the saw head is in the up
position.
