CHANGING A WHEEL
Tools available
The following tools are located in
the holder in the centre of the spare
wheel:
1.
Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim
and removal of the wheel securing
bolts.
2.
Jack with integrated handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3.
Removable towing eye.
See corresponding section.
4.
Bolt cover tool.
Permits removal of the bolt
protectors (covers) on alloy wheels.
Removal
For vehicles with steel wheels,
detach the trim using the wheel-
brace
1
pulling at the valve pas-
sage hole.
For vehicles with alloy wheels,
remove the covers using tool

.
Loosen the wheel bolts.
Take the jack from the tool kit.
Place the jack

in one of the four
locations underneath the vehicle
(the nearest one to the wheel to be
changed).
Extend the jack
2
until its base is in
contact with the ground.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the
wheel.
Access to the spare wheel and the
jack in the boot
Lift the fl oor using the lifting handle.
Secure the handle behind the boot
seal.
Never go underneath a vehicle
which is supported only by a
jack.
Park the vehicle on level, stable
and non-slippery ground.
Apply the handbrake, switch off the
ignition and engage fi rst or reverse
gear (position
P
for the automatic
gearbox).
