5.1
Preparatory mechanical tasks
5.1.1
Drilling seal inserts
Before the TCP/IP connection can be assembled and connected in the system, the
seal insert through which to guide the Ethernet cable, the power supply and the sen-
sor cable must be drilled. The seal inserts that will be required are included with de-
livery.
The seal insert is pre-manufactured so the antenna cable will fit through it. The illus-
tration below shows the location of the PG screwed connection on the housing:
Determine the diameter of the drill hole for the non-pre-manufactured cable and pro-
ceed as follows:
• To do this, insert the two halves of the seal insert into the body of the screwed con-
nection and tighten the cap nut slightly.
• Tighten the body of the screwed connection in place.
• Drill the seal insert with the desired diameter.
In order to be able achieve a Protection class of IP65, it is absolutely
essential to observe one of the following instructions.
