Product Description

Data carrier 868 MHz (UHF)

Data carriers in this frequency range can be passive as well as active (with 

battery) and use a specially-shaped rod antenna as the resonance element. The 

passive transponders can be produced very cheaply and have a range of several 

meters.

As material handling and the automotive sector requires ranges of 1 to 5 meters, 

this system represents a low-cost alternative to microwave systems, particularly 

because of its low transponder costs. The high carrier frequency supports large 

data volumes and extremely short read times.
