OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Zero Balance Adjustment
The scale should be checked periodically, particularly after being moved, by following the instructions
below.
Note:
a flat head screwdriver is required.
1. Ensure that the scale is located on a hard, flat, and level surface.
2.
Place both poise weights on the “0” value on both bars, as shown below. The beam pointer
should float gently up and down, and not touch the top or bottom of the trig-loop opening.
3. If the beam pointer is not centered in the trig-loop opening, use a flat head screw driver to
adjust the zero adjustment screw.
Weighing Instructions
1.
Set the large and small poises to indicate the patient’s approximate weight.
2. Position the patient onto the scale. Have the patient place their feet on the footrest and not the
floor.
Note:
Fold the footrest up before placing the patient onto the scale then fold down when
patient is safely seated. When assisting the patient onto the scale, the patient should not use the
footrest as a step. Side arms can also be raised to comfortably seat the patient.
