3 Position and arrangement
3.1 General
•
This appliance complies with all the relevant CE directives.
•
On the label on the back of this equipment, you will fi nd the total wattage, the
required voltage and the frequency.
3.2 Placing
•
Install the hob on a fl at, stable and horizontal base.
•
Keep a free space of at least 2 cm around the hob.
•
After installation, the socket or switch (in case of a fi xed connection) must always be
accessible.
•
The walls around the appliance must be made of heat resistant (>85°C) material.
Even if the appliance itself does not get hot, the heat from a hot frying pan for
instance could cause discolouring or damage to the walls.
•
Ensure that the power cord will not become in contact with parts that can become hot.
•
Do not place any infl ammable or deformable objects directly beneath the hob.
3.3 Safety
•
This appliance should only be connected up by a registered electrical installer! The
electrical connection must comply with national and local regulations. The appliance
should always be earthed. Damage caused by incorrect connection or incorrect use is
not covered by the guarantee
3.4 Electrical connection
•
The electric hob is connected according to diagram 230 V 2Nac (see the diagram
at the bottom of the appliance). If another connecting is required, let a registered
electrical installer made the connection.
•
The connection terminals are accessible once you have opened the connection box
on the underneath of the appliance. The connection box cover can be opened with
a screwdriver. You can use the bridges provided in the connecting box to make the
required interconnections.
•
If you want to make a fi xed connection, make sure that a multi-polar switch with a
contact separation of at least 3 mm is fi tted in the supply line.
•
The power cord is a type Y. This means that the power cord may only be replaced by
the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s service organisation or equivalently qualifi ed
persons, in order to avoid dangerous situations.
