Installing the PCAN-Gateway
Do the following to connect the PCAN-Wireless Gateway to the
IP network (WLAN):
1.
Mount the PCAN-Wireless Gateway at the appropriate
position.
2.
Connect each of the two CAN ports with the affiliated CAN
network.
Note:
A High-speed CAN bus needs to be electrically termi-
nated on both ends using resistors of 120
. The device
does not have an internal termination.
3.
Connect the PCAN-Wireless Gateway to a suitable power
supply (8 - 30 V DC).
The PCAN-Gateway starts automatically. When the Status LED is
blinking green the device is ready and the current configuration is
executed. After the start, the PCAN-Gateway automatically connects
to the IP network.
Enter the previously assigned IP address in the browser address
bar. If no connection can be established, an error may have been
made when entering the WLAN connection data.
In this case, a reset to factory settings is needed to reactivate the
Micro Access Point mode and to repeat the configuration process
(see section 4.2 on page 20).
Note:
In case of a dynamic address assignment via DHCP, the
new IP address must first be determined. Commercial routers
list all connected devices with their current IP address.
