6 Calibration
A PCE-VM 40 stands out by its long-term stability. Depending on the intensity with which it is used, we
recommend a recalibration after approximately 1 to 2 years. The month and year of the last calibration
are displayed on the start screen.
The calibration is performed through mechanical excitation with known vibration amplitudes.
Due to the weight of the device and the required low frequencies and high amplitudes, a particular kind of
vibration generator is needed.
The calibration menu is not accessible to the user in order to avoid manipulation.
PCE Instruments offers a calibration service. For calibrations in other laboratories, we also provide the
necessary technical documentation, upon request.
7 Disposal
For the disposal of batteries, the 2006/66/EC
directive of the European Parliament applies. Due to the
contained pollutants, batteries must not be disposed of as household waste. They must be given to
collection points designed for that purpose.
In order to comply with the EU directive 2012/19/EU we take our devices back. We either re-use them or
give them to a recycling company which disposes of the devices in line with law.
If you have any questions, please contact PCE Instruments.
